Advanced Treatment Options
Personalized Care. Innovative Treatments. Whole-Person Healing.
No two recovery journeys are exactly alike. That’s why Addiction Wellness & Counseling Center (AWCCOK) offers a range of advanced treatment options designed to complement counseling, recovery coaching, and comprehensive behavioral health care.
Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
What Is Deep TMS?
Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Unlike medication, TMS works by directly targeting underactive neural pathways associated with depression and other mental health conditions.
The treatment is performed in our office without anesthesia or sedation, allowing individuals to return to their normal daily activities immediately afterward.
How Deep TMS Works
During treatment, a specialized device delivers targeted magnetic pulses to specific regions of the brain. These pulses stimulate nerve cells that may not be functioning optimally, helping restore healthier patterns of brain activity over time.
Most treatment plans involve a series of brief outpatient sessions over several weeks, with many individuals experiencing meaningful improvements in mood, motivation, and overall quality of life.
Who May Benefit
TMS may be appropriate for individuals experiencing:
- Depression that has not responded well to medication
- Persistent depressive symptoms
- Anxiety disorders
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Other conditions when clinically appropriate
Our team will determine whether TMS may be an appropriate treatment option as part of a comprehensive evaluation.
IV Therapy
Recovery places significant demands on both the mind and body. IV Therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream, allowing for efficient absorption and supporting the body’s natural healing process.
Depending on an individual’s needs, IV Therapy may help improve hydration, address nutritional deficiencies, support physical recovery, and promote overall wellness as part of a personalized treatment plan.
IV Therapy is never a stand-alone solution but may be recommended alongside counseling, medical care, and other therapeutic services to support comprehensive healing.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process traumatic memories and other distressing life experiences.
Rather than repeatedly reliving traumatic events, EMDR helps the brain naturally reprocess difficult memories so they become less emotionally overwhelming over time. It has been extensively researched and is widely recognized as an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress.
EMDR may be beneficial for individuals experiencing:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety
- Grief and loss
- Childhood trauma
- Relationship trauma
- Other distressing life experiences
When appropriate, EMDR can become an important part of a comprehensive recovery plan.
Medication Management
Medication can be an effective component of treatment for many behavioral health conditions when carefully prescribed and monitored.
Our providers work collaboratively with each individual to evaluate treatment options, discuss potential benefits and side effects, monitor progress, and make thoughtful adjustments when needed. Medication decisions are always made within the context of the individual’s overall treatment goals.
Rather than replacing counseling or therapy, medication management works alongside behavioral health services to support improved mental health, emotional stability, and long-term recovery.
Nutritional Evaluations
Nutrition plays an essential role in both physical and emotional wellbeing. A healthy body provides the foundation for a healthy mind, making nutrition an important part of holistic recovery.
Our nutritional evaluations help identify dietary factors that may be affecting mood, energy, overall health, and the recovery process. Personalized recommendations are designed to support long-term wellness through practical, sustainable nutrition strategies.
Combined with our expertise in behavioral health and pharmacology, nutritional guidance helps individuals build healthy habits that contribute to lasting recovery of the mind, body, and spirit.
GeneSight Testing
GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic test which means that it analyzes how your genes may affect medication outcomes. The GeneSight test analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. Results can inform your healthcare provider about how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
The GeneSight test can be administered by the clinical staff here at AWCC. The test is a simple cheek swab.
